# Paycheck Yield

How much additional OECD-defined net income accompanies a second salary?

Period: 2025 · 38 calculated values / 38 economy rows · Unit: Source-defined net gain per 100 gross

100 × (net₂ − net₁) / (gross₂ − gross₁)

## Definition

Compare two OECD model couples with two children. The first earner remains at 100% of average wages; the second changes from no earnings to 67% of average wages. Net and gross amounts use the same country, year and local currency. This is a finite difference between model cases, not a marginal tax rate or an observed transition.

## How to interpret it

This is net income under the OECD tax definition, not necessarily money after every compulsory payment. Non-tax compulsory payments can be excluded; Colombia is a conspicuous case. Housing, childcare, commuting, service entitlements and behavioural responses are not valued. Higher is not an overall assessment of a tax system.

This is a named diagnostic, not an official statistic, causal model or universal prosperity score. Missing outputs remain unavailable. Source estimates, normative choices and uncertainty are distinct.
